Shannon was born and raised in north eastern North Carolina and has called the Outer Banks her home for over 20 years. She shares her home with her husband, Grant, a clowder of cats, and their cat herding Corgi, Hank!

Shannon has worked in veterinary medicine over 30 years. She graduated from Ashworth College with an Associate's degree in Applied Science and is a Registered Veterinary Technician. She is currently pursuing her Bachelor of Science in Veterinary Technology degree at the University of Missouri. When she is not busy studying, Shannon also works at the Outer Banks SPCA/Dare County Animal Shelter as a surgery technician.
