  • Dr.
    Andrew F. Horne

    Dr. Horne earned a Bachelor of Science from the University of Richmond and his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Colorado State University.  After working with practices in Raleigh and Edenton, North Carolina, he designed and built Martin's Point Veterinary Hospital in 1995.  When not tending to patients and the practice, Dr. Horne enjoys spending time with his family and many outdoor activities.  He and his wife, Karen, have two adult children, and have recently welcomed their first grandchild. They currently share their home with four English Setters, a Cocker Spaniel, and pack leader, Kibbins the cat.

  • Ashley Beale
    Practice Manager

    Ashley joined MPVH in 2008, shortly after moving to the Outer Banks. Her hobbies include boating, hiking and exploring all facets on the OBX. In the recent years, her entire family has also moved to the beach. Her sweet lab mix, 'Jake', is 15 years young, and she has two cats, 'Charlie Girl' and 'Levi Kitty Boy.'

    Kelly D. Gimbel

    Originally from Culpeper, Virginia, Dr. Gimbel attended Virginia Tech where she earned both her undergraduate Bachelor of Science and her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine.  Dr. Gimbel enjoys traveling with family and friends. Her newest family member is an Australian Cattle Dog named 'Nash.' She is a big supporter of Virginia Tech football and basketball, and is a proud Hokie Club member.

    Jill D. Partlow

    Dr. Jill Partlow joined our family in the Spring of 2018. In 1992, she earned her Doctor in Veterinary Medicine from Virginia Tech. She has received post-doctoral training in Veterinary Acupuncture at the Chi Institute in Florida. Dr. Partlow is a member of the American Academy of Veterinary Acupuncture as well as the International Veterinary Acupuncture Society. She has lectured at national acupuncture meetings to fellow veterinarians. In her spare time, she enjoys sheep herding, photography, camping and hiking. Keeping Dr. Partlow busy on her days off is her farm in Currituck County which she shares with 2 Border Collies, 1 Corgi, several cats and 12 sheep.

  • Dr. Terri Davis

    Dr. Terri Davis bought a home in Wanchese in 2011, and recently moved to the area permanently in May 2019. In 1992, she graduated from Virginia-Maryland Regional Collee of Veterinary Medicine and practiced in Virginia for 26 years.She has 3 dogs, Frisco, Carolina and Pungo, and a cat named Wanchese. Her hobbies include spending time on the beach, biking and kayaking with her husband, Craig!


  • Melissa Cooper

    Melissa is our head technician and staff supervisor. She has been in the veterinary field since 1993, and earned her RVT in 2000. Kill Devil Hills is her home that she shares with her husband, two daughters and a son. Her children keep her very busy, as do her 3 sweet cats and 2 crazy dogs. Melissa loves to spend all of her free time on the beach with friends and family!

  • Sarah Conover

    Sarah, originally from Princeton, New Jersey, has been a member of our MPVH family since 2014. She graduated from Delaware Valley University with a degree in animal science, following that with a Masters in Science from North Carolina Agriculture and Technical University in 2018. Sarah has 2 cats, Betty White and Eugene who tend to boss around her puppy mix named Beatrice!

  • Stacy Jones

    Stacy graduated from Longwood University in 2005 and permanently relocated to the Outer Banks in 2006. When she is not caring for the patients at MPVH, she is at home tending to her farm; 3 horses, 15 year old hound mix named 'Molly' and her two cats, 'Colby' and 'Savannah.' For fun, Stacy enjoys any outdoor activity you throw at her!

  • Melinda Sherrod

    Melinda, one of our RVTs, has been a member of our family since 2008. She works part time as her full time job is a police officer with the Dare County Sheriffs Department. Her farm in Currituck County consists of horses, dogs, cats, goats, as well as an adorable little boy named Cayden!

  • Kellyn Seal

    Kellyn's main duty at MPVH is caring for our boarding cats and dogs. Originally from Fairfax, VA, she moved to the Outer Banks after graduating. Two dogs and two cats fill up her home. Kellyn enjoys traveling to visit family and friends.

  • Savannah Frank

    Savannah was born and raised locally in Currituck County. After graduating from Currituck County High School in the spring of 2019, she immediately started taking classes to obtain her veterinary technician license. She spends her time off tending to her farm: 4 dogs, a horse and a cat. Savannah enjoys horseback riding, fishing and spending time with family and friends.

  • Delaney Whittle

    Delaney has lived in Kitty Hawk her entire life. She spends her spare time with her two dogs, Scully and Spot. She also has two cats named Jimmy and Tiger. When she is not caring for the pets at our hospital, she jumps on her paddleboard and/or kayak and explores the canals in our area.


  • Stephanie Stickley

    Stephanie, one of our newer members, has proven to be a wonderful addition to our team! During her time off, you will most likely find her boating, fishing or spending time with her 2 year old son, Wyatt. Family time is most favorably spent at the new H2OBX waterpark in Currituck County. Sharing her household is 'Andy', a very sweet 7 year old Boxer. 

  • Kirstin Merrell

    Kirstin was born and raised on the Outer Banks. After graduating from First Flight High School, she spent time in Greenville, NC as well as California. She loves to travel, spend time on the beach and discover new foods. Three dogs fill up her home: Lexus, Coco and Tiny! After returning from the west coast, Kirstin discovered a passion for working with animals. She is looking foward to meeting all of our patients and clients while making their veterinary experience a pleasure!
